Guests of all ages warm to the friendly atmosphere and informal
relaxed style of operation, which so admirably suits the fine
old stone house and its lovely garden. Built as a coaching inn
around 1740, the house retains the charm of a bygone era with
window seats and shutters and an old range. Double, twin and
flexible family rooms are tastefully decorated each in individual
style, with modern ensuite facilities and contemporary comforts.
Known
for attentive service and high standards of comfort and hospitality,
our family run hotel has been recognised in the AA Landlady
of the Year Award and receives both 'Good Breakfast' and 'Dinner
Awards' from the AA. Delicious home cooking emphasises the use
of locally sourced produce, with fish and seafood a speciality.
Special diets can be catered for.
Swap
stories with fellow guests in the comfortable guest lounge and
cosy fully
licensed
evening bar. Sample Cornish produce at evening dinner overlooking
the large sunny garden. And if you prefer not to drive into
Looe, enjoy the picturesque 5 minute journey on the lovely little
Looe Valley Branch Line train, spotting the wildlife as you
skirt the banks of the river. Few country house hotels offer
such easy access to Looe and the sea without the need to use
a car.
We
are happy to assist with arrangements for fly/deep sea fishing,
horse riding and a wide range of activities in Cornwall. There
is a choice of golf courses within a 25 mile radius. At Polraen,
guests of all ages are welcome. Quiet and restful at night,
you'll find the hospitality is genuine, warm and relaxed - so
that you can! We look forward to your visit.
