At Polraen, children are positively welcome and the atmosphere
is friendly and relaxed. Families warm to the country
house style of operation, which so admirably suits the
fine old stone house and its lovely garden. Here you can
enjoy a country house style holiday not far from the sea,
with a large garden, avoiding the noise of seagulls and
with 'no stress' easy parking. Children are welcome to
join parents for evening dinner and enjoy the facilities
of a comfortable guest lounge, while parents can relax
in the cosy fully licensed evening bar.

Room Sleeps 3: King bed & single
bed with ensuite 'double size' shower room overlooking
garden. Travel cot may be added. Next door there
is an additional bathroom available for guests'
general use in which we keep children's bath toys.
Family Room Sleeps 4:
Flexible ensuite with a superking bed
and 2 single beds or with 4 single beds. Room
has an ensuite bathroom.
All
rooms have beverage making facilities, hair dryer,
remote control colour TV and thermostatically
controlled radiators. Rates
include Full Breakfast. Polraen
is fully licensed and a fully non smoking establishment.
Children may dine with parents at 7pm.
We have a lovely black labrador and an old pussy
cat who live next door in our cottage, but sorry
- we do not accept guest pets.
A
special highlight for many children:
The
5 minute journey from our location into Looe is
a highlight of many children's stay at Polraen,
as you can spot the hotel (a bit like the Railway
Children!) and see wildlife and birds from the
train as it skirts the river bank just above the
water line into Looe. Few country houses offer
such convenient access to Looe without the need
to use a car. And
if you prefer not to drive to Cornwall, you can
travel by mainline train from across the UK to
Liskeard and catch the Looe Valley Branch Line
to Sandplace where we can collect you from the
station.

family friendly hotel in Looe, Cornwall, called Polraen
they have a family room, large garden, ....and baby listening
(so you can have a drink in the bar in peace!).Run by
a couple with two kids of their own it is a gem. Lovely
area with lots to do for kids of all ages(beaches, steam
train, boats, eden project, aquarium etc)I highly recommend
it Our kids are 8 and 2.

Sandplace, Looe, Cornwall. My husband, two year old daughter
and I spent two nights at this delightful country hotel.
The proprietors, Martin and Gill Bridges made us feel
very welcome and provided us with a very child-friendly
environment in which to unwind. Our family bedroom (Kingsize
and single bed) was spacious and comfortable. Our daughter's
needs were well catered for: plenty of toys, highchair,
bed guard, digital baby monitor and a huge garden. My
husband and I were able to enjoy uninterrupted meals,
with delicious food, and quaffable wine, followed by a
relaxing Pimms 'Winter' drink at the bar. What more could
we ask for?
